TCC Hits the Road
Through the generous donations of our supporters, The Children’s Collection has finally acquired a school bus! We are over the moon about this development, and are so excited to share this huge stepping stone with all of you. We are halfway done with the renovation process, and are excited to bring this project to the streets.
Rendering of the completed outside of the librareum.
Our goal since the creation of the collection has always been to bring children’s accomplishments to the foreground and show other kids around New Mexico what they are capable of, and how they can make it happen. Now we have the physical means to do so with our soon-to-be traveling librareum, which we plan to make as engaging, accessible, and inspiring as possible.
This bus will be the permanent home of all of the accomplishments of these incredible children, and will feature a multitude of fun and learning oriented areas. It will include a lending library, a movie screen, an art gallery, featured inventors and fashion designers, and even a gaming corner!
We hope to raise funds to make the bus as accessible as possible.
The librareum will make visits to schools, children’s hospitals, libraries, children’s museums, community centers, festivals, and the list goes on. This development will allow us to achieve our goal on a much larger scale, and to show the youth of New Mexico what they can do in an entertaining and interactive way.
We owe a huge thank you to the people who have made this renovation possible: our supporters, donators, and especially Rosella Custom Builds, managed by Audrey Evaskovich, for doing the heavy lifting and bringing our librareum dreams to life! First steps: filling the holes in the original floor.
We hope to bring this project to the streets within the next couple of months, and look forward to sharing these awesome accomplishments with the children of New Mexico.
