The Children’s Collection (TCC) is a nonprofit corporation based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is a place of optimism and positivity where children can browse the collection and find that kids just like them have produced remarkable creations all over the world and throughout modern history. It’s a place to think, dream, play, and be inspired without worrying about the pressures too many children face: unstable environments, over-scheduling, no free time, too much free time, addiction to screens…. What started as a passion project to collect books by child authors, The Children’s Collection is presented as a popup exhibit for all sorts of kids’ creations at schools, fairs, markets, and festivals. Visitors to the exhibit are always astonished at the sheer volume of child artists and makers, some of whom have literally changed the world! TCC has physical and digital collections from anywhere in the world, all based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are raising money to buy and renovate a school bus as a mobile library and exhibit to take the show on the road, with the long-term goal of finding a permanent space for a lending library, museum, theater, and maker-space.
